A New Addition

Since we told our children yesterday, we figure that everyone else will know soon enough. We are very excited to announce that we will be having another baby join our family. We are expecting the new arrival at the first of the new year. I am actually really hoping for a January baby. However, we might not be so lucky if this baby follows the pattern of the others. All of the other kids were 1-2 weeks early. Either way, it will be a wonderful blessing to all of us!

When we told the kids, Richie announced that he would baby sit and asked that we name the baby Ratatoille. Rachel said that she wants a baby girl named "Little Lydia."

It has been interesting for the last several weeks with Richie. Every night when I tuck him in bed he has rubbed my stomach and said, "I know there's a baby in there." Jacob would laugh. I would ask him why he would say that and he would reply, "Because your tummy is getting so fat." Nice. I figure that by now other people have been thinking what Richie has been unafraid to say. So, now you all no longer have to be afraid of asking. There actually is a reason to the sudden growth.

Richie's t-ball season

Richie had a much more successful t-ball season than soccer season. He played on the Cubs team and really enjoyed hitting both right and left handed. His favorite part, besides tickets for treats after games, was sliding into home plate. He would often miss and have to redo his slide. Sometimes it took several attempts. However, he made sure to do it every time. Good season Richie!

Go Astros!

Jacob just finished his baseball season with the Astros. He LOVED it! His team made it to the final four last weekend. Jacob played hard and improved a lot. We are proud of you Jacob!

Lydia's Violin Recital

Lydia with her new violin teacher, Susan Younghans.

Lydia recently changed violin teachers. She is now studying with Susan Younghans here in Coppell. The school district has been really great too. They allow Lydia to leave for 1 hour a week for her lessons. This new teacher is having Lydia learn a lot of theory and relearn her vibrato. This is all wonderful and needed. However, she has not been playing songs very much yet. So, when it was time for the recital, Lydia was able to choose a song that she already new. We are proud of all of your hard work, Lydia. We love you!

(We have been trying to add the video from her recital. However, there is a max of 100MB and the video is 676MB. We are not sure why because it is not that long. Maybe I just need to become more computer literate! I will add the video if I can figure it out.)
